Boards & Committees

Welcome and Thank You for your Efforts to Volunteer!

Cities often develop boards and various committees and appoint interested and qualified citizens to advise and make recommendations to the City Council. Utilizing boards may be advantageous to providing additional examination, as well as a broad range of ideas and expertise.

There are certain boards that are designated by statute for purposes that are very specific, there may also be advisory boards permanently created at the discretion of the City Council by ordinance. A Board may also be created to serve on a a temporary basis to address specific issues facing the city, and is considered to be "ad hoc".

Each board and committee must adhere to Florida's Sunshine Law and Florida's Sunshine Amendment, as well as ethics law and financial disclosures.

Please Know...

  • Appointments are only considered when there is an opening on a City board.
  • Appointments  are not official until they are confirmed by the City Council.

Boards & Committees

The City has three (3) boards and committees, whose members are appointed by the City Council.  Each member is an unpaid volunteer serving at the pleasure of the council.  Additional boards and/or committees can be established by the City Council as needed.
