Notice of Prohibited Activities on Seminole Improvement District Facilities

The Seminole Improvement District (hereinafter, the "District") is a special-purpose governmental entity which manages the utility and stormwater systems within its boundaries. The District owns, operates, and maintains a variety of essential infrastructure facilities within the City of Westlake for sewer, water, irrigation, and stormwater management purposes. The District owns and maintains all waterbodies located in the City of Westlake.

It has come to the attention of District management that that there is a growing interest in recreational fishing in the City of Westlake, including community fishing tournaments. While the District appreciates enthusiasm for outdoor recreational activities, this notice is to inform you that currently all recreational activities, including fishing, are strictly prohibited on District-owned facilities and waterbodies.

The District enforces these prohibitions to protect public safety, preserve the operational integrity of the critical infrastructure the District manages, and to respect the privacy of homeowners living adjacent to these waterbodies. Please be advised that the unauthorized use of District property or waterbodies constitutes trespassing and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
