City of Westlake and Westlake Community Foundation Receive 2026 Housing Impact Award
Westlake, FL (May 14, 2026) - The City of Westlake and the Westlake Community Foundation have been awarded the 2026 Housing Hero Impact Award by the Housing Leadership Council of Palm Beach County for the success and impact of the Housing Assistance Purchase Program Yearly (HAPPY).
Presented during the Annual Housing Heroes Luncheon at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts on May 13, 2026, the award recognizes organizations, municipalities or people making a meaningful impact on housing accessibility and homeownership opportunities in Palm Beach County.
The recognition marks the first award received by the HAPPY Program and comes during the same year the City of Westlake celebrates its 10-year anniversary.
“Winning the Housing Heroes Impact Award is an incredible honor for Westlake and a reflection of the life-changing impact the HAPPY Program is having for local families,” said JohnPaul O’Connor, Mayor of the City of Westlake. “As I look to expand the program and scale it, I’m excited to have Taylor Garcia leading the effort and helping the program become what it was always envisioned to be. Westlake is truly an amazing place to raise a family and helping residents achieve homeownership is by far one of the most rewarding parts of the job.”
