City of Westlake’s Community Emergency Notification System

The City of Westlake would like to remind residents of the Community Notification and Alert System – CodeRED, a high-speed emergency mass notification service. The CodeRED system serves as the backbone of the City’s emergency planning and communications outreach to residents. The system quickly sends telephone calls, text messages, emails, mobile app push notifications, TTD devices, and posts to social media channels to inform residents of critical information during emergencies.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to visit our website at the following link to register or update their contact information, particularly those individuals who have unlisted phone numbers or those who have changed their phone number or address within the past year and those who use a cellular phone or VoIP phone as their primary number.

Residents may also text from any mobile device “Westlake” to 99411, to receive a direct link to the City’s enrollment page.

CodeRED is used to disseminate alerts and community messages related to missing persons/children, evacuation notices, natural disasters, shelter in place/lockdowns, and criminal activities.  To receive weather-related alerts, residents are encouraged to turn on Government Alerts (Apple Devices)  or Wireless Emergency Alerts (Android Devices) on their mobile devices or enable your mobile device’s Weather app, to receive severe storm alerts.

We are urging everyone to register your telephone number(s). It is a quick and easy process and it's free.
